Incident Overview
A brawl at Rocco’s Pizza in Mount Greenwood, Chicago, left the restaurant owner, Nick Barocco, and several workers seriously injured. The fight occurred early Sunday morning and resulted in four men from the suburbs being arrested and charged.
Video Evidence
New video footage of the fight outside Rocco’s restaurant was shown to a judge and posted on social media. The footage is now part of the evidence in the case. According to attorney Mike Leonard, who represents one of the accused, the video shows three bouncers following the men down the street and initiating a physical altercation.
Injuries and Charges
Leonard’s client, one of the accused men, suffered a brain bruise and concussion during the incident. Meanwhile, Nick Barocco sustained serious head injuries and was initially hospitalized in the ICU. He has since been discharged to recover at home but faces a long road to recovery.
Community Support
A prayer service was held at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church to support Barocco. Hundreds of people attended the service, writing kind words and well wishes on a banner for Barocco, who is well-regarded in the community. Alderman Matt O’Shea provided an update on Barocco’s condition, noting that he was released from the ICU and is now at home with his family.
Legal Proceedings
The four men involved in the brawl are facing multiple charges. The court proceedings are ongoing, with the newly released video footage playing a critical role in the case.
