When The Late Kevin Samuels Mocked a Woman, Saying You Could Hear the Cholesterol In Her Voice (Video)

Kevin Samuels passed away on May 5, 2022. Samuels continued to gain legions of black male AND women fans while upsetting many black women who he always stated were the women he was targeting in his widely popular advice videos.

Ironically, his black female fan base was growing at the time of his death, with some women, according to him, thanking him for his honesty and for helping them (and their friends who are in denial) understand the challenges they might bring to relationships.

In this segment, Samuels made several points about the role of Black women in relationships, contrasting his views with those of some Black women. He argued that single women could perpetuate the cycle of singlehood for others. He also suggested that women seeking high-value partners should bring something to the table themselves, not expect the man to provide everything.

These comments clashed with a particular woman featured on the show. Samuels told her that a woman’s role wasn’t to be in front of or beside a man, but behind him. The woman disagreed, and Samuels used a hypothetical break-in scenario to illustrate his point. He asked her if she’d expect her husband to check things out first, to which she replied she’d be beside him. Samuels then argued that her role wouldn’t be to be beside him but to ensure the children’s safety.

This episode continued to be circulated on social media even after Samuels’ passing. In the clip, a woman in the background can be heard encouraging the on-screen woman to hang up. Samuels then asks, “Is that Big Shirley?” before hanging up himself and making a comment about the woman’s voice.

  1. Wow what do the women in his family think of him, he is so disgusting and disrespectful to women

  2. Well the brotha is tryna give you something to work with the attitude and your health why get offended if the shoe fits then hey what you plan on doing about it.

  3. This is really sad. Like black women don’t have enough people devaluing our skills, heart, and looks. A black man like this, who has the opportunity to lift up our women and our culture, uses it instead to tear the black woman down. So you target plus sized women by their VOICE? I will bet on all that I have, that a plus sized Black woman has raised you, taught you, or loved you. Your comment is a slap in the face to them, and ignorant. There are thin people in the world who have high cholesterol too, you uneducated dummy.
You are a disgrace. Always quick to demand respect, while discriminating and disrespecting the people who support you. What a waste of an opportunity to lift others up. The hurt you put out in the world always comes back to you. Remember that.

  4. I see why I don’t listen to shows about relationships, especially pertaining to black men and women. Some of the things he is saying is truthful other things are absolutely ridiculous. Even though I will say some black women need to take a serious look at themselves and their friends to see why black women have the lowest marriage rate of different racial groups.
